The Supreme Law Of This Land?
One Voice In Defense Of Liberty...Our Republic Is Dead, Replaced With A Socialist Democracy Ruled By Corporate Fascists. What Are You Doing About It? Thomas Hill. Candidate For N.C. Senate 36
"For more than six hundred years -- that is, since Magna Carta, in 1215 -- there has been no clearer principle of English or American constitutional law, than that, in criminal cases, it is not only the right and duty of juries to judge what are the facts, what is the law, and what was the moral intent of the accused; but that it is also their right, and their primary and paramount duty, to judge the justice of the law, and to hold all laws invalid, that are, in their opinion, unjust or oppressive, and all persons guiltless in violating, or resisting the execution of, such law."
"Great part of that order which reigns among mankind is not the effect of government. It has its origin in the principles of society and the natural constitution of man. It existed prior to government, and would exist if the formality of government was abolished. The mutual dependence and reciprocal interest which man has upon man, and all the parts of civilised community upon each other, create that great chain of connection which holds it together. The landholder, the farmer, the manufacturer, the merchant, the tradesman, and every occupation, prospers by the aid which each receives from the other, and from the whole. Common interest regulates their concerns, and forms their law; and the laws which common usage ordains, have a greater influence than the laws of government. In fine, society performs for itself almost everything which is ascribed to government."
This is a cross-over post from my Facebook page.
"The market in the broadest sense of the term is the process that encompasses all voluntary and spontaneous actions of men. It is the realm of human initiative and freedom and the soil upon which all human achievements thrive." - Ludwig von Mises
What ever happened to "consent of the governed"? If government is here to "serve" the citizenry, why do we have to ask permission to conduct our normal, everyday lives? They tell us what we can and cannot eat, drink, and smoke. They pry into our pocketbooks and our bedrooms. They seize the fruits of our labors and redistribute the wealth to people who have no moral authority to receive it.
